Torrey and I met several year ago when I photographed her cousin Sam's wedding at Casa Blanca in Round Rock. Ooh I love that place and I haven't been out there in so long! Click Here was Sam and Hahn's wedding from way back when (two of my favorites.)

Back to the business at hand. Torrey just graduated a few days ago, the night of the wicked central Texas storms over Memorial day weekend. She's a communications major and is currently working at a law firm. What's next for her, who knows. Bigger and Brighter things I'm sure. She's lovely indeed, but also smart, funny and kind. Hopefully comedy is in her future... I got my fingers crossed. Maybe even Second City. Thank you for letting me be a part of this chapter in your life. All the best to you!

Ly and Sarah Happy couple!

The duo met in college, as UT longhorns, and both are now pursuing careers as pharmacists in central Texas. This happy couple will tie the knot in Houston over the summer.

I love photographing sessions at UT, not only does it have the typical Austin landmarks like the UT Tower and Littlefiend Fountain. But it hides tons of hidden gems. Walking around campus weaving in and out a learned students lie charming locals like the greenhouse we found hidden in plain site! No matter how many times I've been there I never fail to find something all together brand new!

A destination engagement session at UT for this Houston couple. We met at the fountain and explored the unlimited potential of the University of Texas campus - beautiful, none of the buildings are the same and the history just oozes off of these magnificent structures. I loved it. I am excited to be photographing their wedding next spring, they are happy in love, but mostly they laugh and laugh. Chris is the cut-up, I actually repeated his joke, it was a good one. I really appreciate humor.

Our wedding was in the planning stages for quite awhile - we were engaged for over two years (since 9/18/10) before our big day. I really wanted the event to reflect a combination of our personalities - casual, laid back, and natural - but still special. I knew Green Pastures was the perfect location because it felt like coming to someone's home rather than a stark event center. It felt warm and cozy, despite still being able to accommodate our 130 guests.

The colors (teal and yellow) actually were inspired by the colors of my shoes. I was shopping just a month or two after our engagement, and I fell in love with these polka-dot Seychelles shoes. At the time, I wasn't looking for wedding shoes, but these were perfect. I used them to help pick out the bridesmaids dress color and the yellow ties for the guys.

Going with the "natural" look, Bouquets of Austin did our floral arrangements and did an absolutely perfect job. I wanted lots of color, and a "gathered" look. I pretty much gave them a blank slate and they didn't disappoint! It was wonderful to walk into the room at Green Pastures and be greeted by the smell and sight of our beautiful bouquets! A few of my other favorite details: my garter, knitted by one of my bridesmaids, Trisha; the cake-topper of two teal lovebirds, custom ordered from Orly Design on Etsy; and the guys' Texas cuff links, ordered online from who-knows-where by Stephen.

Of course, it threatened rain all day on Saturday, and ended up pouring right during the window of time our ceremony was supposed to be outside. Stephen and I both love the outdoors, and it was a bit of a bummer to not get to have the ceremony under the beautiful live oak trees at Green Pastures. But, I do have to say that the indoor ceremony was intimate and beautiful, and was everything we wanted. We didn't know what our officiant was going to say, and his speech was perfect. Again, the folks at Bouquets of Austin really did a wonderful job accommodating the last-minute rain changes! And the fact that it rained made our after-ceremony photo session even more intimate because all the guests were still inside. I thought it was so great that we randomly found that UT umbrella to use in the pictures - perfect touch!

And of course, there was plenty of dancing! That might have been the most important thing to me: there had to be dancing! Heck we even did Gangnam Style. If anything it just went by way too quickly.

Finally, we got to make our get-away in an awesome teal Cadillac from Vintage Rides of Austin. Even though our hotel was only about 5 minutes down the road, the driver (who happened to also be the owner, Ed) took us for a spin through downtown. It was really a magical way to end our night! We got to have a little time to just bask in all that had just happened. People waved to us and shouted congratulations as we cruised down the streets. It was a perfect ending to a perfect night! Our only regret: hopping on a plane the next morning at 10am to head back to North Carolina. A leisurely after-wedding brunch might have been nice :-)

UT campus engagement session, austin engagement photographer, city streets, hispanic couple Jenna -N- Ricardo met while attending the University of Texas. Ricardo graduated and moved to NYC to work in finance, Jenna stuck around to wrap up her degree and one year later followed. They recently relocated to Jersey City where they're happy and have a bigger space. Their wedding will be held next year at the Hummingbird House and they plan to resume their residence in the tri-state area, at least for a little while. I'm jealous. Thanks for having me along for the ride guys. I look forward to next year!

Austin Engagement session at UT Lauren and Matt met in a geology class at UT. It was my first time to shoot at UT, there are a million different shots to be had there. I love shooting engagement sessions. Couples who may have never been photographed before, are all of the sudden put together and asked to look lovingly at each other. With some couples, they have been together for years and the "honeymoon phase" is long since worn off. Ladies: you're not crazy, not everyone just shows up all lovey dovey, though some folks do. The #1 phrase I hear from every person I photograph at the beginning of our session is "what do I do with my arms?" By the end of our session you will be a bonafide fashion model ;) This is an opportunity to kick off your engagement, remember why you love each other.
