Ruth-N-Wes Testimonial - Austin Wedding Photographer /
[vimeo id="21471960"] Ruth-N-Wes stopped by the She-N-He office to share their experience working with us and to spread the love. Many thanks to JR Digital Video for recording and putting together this video for us! And Thank you Ruth and Wes for selflessly coming by and sharing your experience with our cameras.
We photographed Ruth and Wes' very intimate wedding last year February. It was small but bursting at the seems with love. They took their vows after nearly ten years together at Umlauf Scuplture Garden and held their reception at the ever-delicious Vespaio on South Congress.
They were a delight to work with and we were honored to be a part of their wonderful day.

Shweta -N- Vishal - Austin Engagement Photography /
Shweta and Vishal They were introduced by their families. Their union is a modern arranged marriage. Not really betrothed but were introduced with the hope that they would fall in love and one day wed. Schweta told her mother that she would never marry Vishal, because he had the same name as her brother and how could she? She met Vishal and they laughed and had such a wonderful time together that she decided, it might not be such a bad thing. Vishal recently moved to Austin from Houston and Schweta is finishing up a job and planning a traditional three day Indian Wedding in San Francisco for June. Then they will be reunited in Austin. Welcome to the Lone Star State!
I really love the photos! They turned out great!

La Patisserie - Austin Wedding Photography /
Sunday morning I was out photographing Lauren and Matt. We got started at UT campus at dawn on the Sunday the end of SXSW, it was quiet and beautiful. Then we popped by the "Greetings from Austin" postcard wall. We finished up our session and we were lured by the frantic waiving hands and battle cry "Happy National Macaron Day!" La Patisserie was celebrating in style with 5 new flavors, I can't remember them all but the toasted almond was our all time favorite. I was getting Macarons confused with Macaroons.
French Macarons are a delightful little cookie sandwich cookie made from egg whites, almond powder and food coloring, and they're filled with buttercream or jam. They're tasty and they have spectacular texture.
They can be made into any color to match any wedding color combo. You can use them as favors or they can stack them into a pyramid to make a cake like structure.
Be the first of your friends to show off this new trendy, tasty confection at your wedding.
Enjoy.

This months featured flavor is going to be Toasted Almond. You can thank me later.

Christy -N- Greg Engaged! - Austin Engagement Photography /
Christy and Greg.
We met while I was shooting a photo booth during a Leap benefit at Seaholm Power Plant. There were a line of attendees and Greg wanted to negotiate his wedding on the spot. But I told him he would just HAVE to come in and chat with me outside of that situation and my candor if what drew them to me. I met Christy again the same week at a wedding event I sent them to, and after that we were golden. So here we are folks, their wedding is tomorrow, on a piece of property her landlord owns, in South Austin. I can hardly wait to see how it's all going to come out, and hopefully a special quick trip for Greg to the fire station after their event. We'll see.
I spoke with Greg yesterday about plans and tomorrow and then about their engagement pictures and it was clear I won over a skeptic. He says the pictures I thought I would like were great but the pictures I wasn't so sure about or that made me feel stupid while we were shooting it look better. Trust is the #2 reason to do an engagement session. If you have the budget and you're waffling. Do it. It's remarkable how much piece of mind it can bring when you already have worked with your photographer.

Cat -N- Brett Engaged! - Austin Engagement Photographer /
Cat and Brett moved to Austin, like yesterday, they are planning their nuptials in Seattle in the fall but wanted to get some sun shiny (no drizzling) shots for their engagement photos. We photographed them here in Austin at The Long Center, Butler Park and Town Lake. Three of the most fantastic locations in Austin. We had such an amazing time working together. Now their Wedding in Seattle has become a Seattle destination wedding for them. Chears to you both. Congratulations!

Katie -N- Kieran engaged - Austin Engagement Photography /
Katie a native Texan and Kieran a native New Yorker plan to take their vows in Austin in October. They met in New York while copywriting for the same ad agency. We captured a few of Austin's highlight locations including the Broken Spoke, the Austin Post Card wall and Lady Bird Lake. Very country. Perfect for this southern belle ;)
I certainly am looking forward to their wedding this fall.
I LOVE the pictures, they look great! Thanks so much. I'm so excited. :)

Amanda -N- Corey / Just Married! - Austin Wedding Photographer /
Ahhh... Amanda and Corey, I sure am going to miss these guys! We have been working on their wedding for well over a year. They didn't have it in their budget at the time to schedule an engagement session. So at the end of the wedding we were able to instead do an after session with them at Lustre Pearl. I know it's a bit over used, but for good reason, what a gold mine. That place is amazing, so beautiful. It was so exciting to shoot there, every corner offers a new perspective. And these two rocked it out. If you'd like to revisit Amanda and Corey's wedding photos click <here.> If you'd like to see Amanda and Corey invitation suite or save the date cards click each respectively. Steve (He) also sent A+C a variety of concepts for their cards and you've already sent the final, so here are the other concepts. Lots of links, if you made it through enjoy the rest of these amazing images. We were all VERY happy.
i think i might have memorized every single pixel of the ones on your blog. i've looked at them about 2 million times :) -Amanda Hendrix
so, i think i've looked through our gallery at least three times already :) -Amanda Hendrix

Group Shots - Austin Wedding Photographer /
I think you'd be surprised if you knew how many people come to my office and tell me, "I don't want group shot. My mom wants group shots but, it's not important to me." For that reason I don't show them a lot, when I make a sample book I often leave them out because there are more desirable shots. When I was married I handed our photographer a list of a million shots and he had to gently inform me that there would not be enough time to accomplish all of that. While these are not necessarily the shots we hang on our walls, they are images we cherish just like the rest of our collection. My husbands grandmother is no longer with us, but she was in those group shots. My mom doesn't dance or do any socializing so the only shots of her from our wedding were in the group shots. I know they take some time to do, and it's always the most tedious part of your wedding, but you'll be happy you did. Because we don't post them and show them off that much I thought I would put together a blog post with group shots so you can see our approach to wedding group shots and see that these aren't your momma's group shots, they're all your own.
Thanks for looking.

Harkey Family Portrait - Austin Family Photographer /
I met the Harkey Family after I met with Taylor on a job during the summer. Taylor is an art director for a local ad agency. What a beautiful family. I had such a great time working with them, even though Taylor was under the weather and looking a little green, you can't tell though, ahh.. the wonders of PhotoShop ;) Thanks for looking.
Elizabeth -N- Rich - Austin Wedding Photographer /
Elizabeth -N- Rich are from Rochester, NY. They moved to Austin just this last year. They decided to have a small, very small, ceremony in Austin to commemorate their union. They're planning a big reception in their home town this spring. Their guests included both sets of parents and themselves at the Zilker Botanical Gardens. They held their reception dinner at Red's Porch on South Lamar, which was proceeded with pints of beer and games of washers, of course.
Amanda -N- Corey - Austin Wedding Photographer /

'50's Palm Springs inspired wedding day shoot II - Austin Wedding Photographer /
50's Palm Springs inspired weddings day shoot featured in Style Me Pretty
yellow, milk glass, vintage dress, lace, classic wedding.
I am madly in love with Hacienda del Lago, which you may already know I cannot stop singing their praises, the location is completely out of control. I shot a bridal portrait out there in September 2009 and feel in love with one particular image, the bride in her long flowey dress walking on the path toward the house at exactly the right time of light. It reminded me of Palm Springs circa 1960. So I started researching the era, decor, fashion, and style. I met with Margaret Bedikian of 3 Apples Events and we together poured over more images from the era, and with that, our concept and visuals really came together and started to take shape. We got together with Kari Shelton of Wow Factor Design Co., brilliant. Armed with our concept and colors Margaret found Wicked Cakes who made our awesome inspired cake and Paige's Bake House who made those completely adorable and absolutely delicious Petit Fours. The models were a no brainer, a couple we worked with for their wedding in February, who have become a part of our family, Brandi and Lee Barnwell. None of this could be possible with out fantastic styling from Shannon Yarbrough without whom we would have no dresses (Linda Asaf, Blush Bridal, Bella Saison) headpieces and accessories (Tracy Tenpenny, Millistar) or men's where. Rentals from Premier Party Central who supplied us with all of the white for our backdrop. Austin Catering created those bite sized pieces of pure art on a plate and lastly Brizy Tait of Keep Austin Gorgeous knocked it off the charts with her beautiful hair and make-up.

Last October I got to get a great group of talented and completely lovable vendors together, a few people I don't mind spending 5 am with. We collaborated seamlessly.

Mary -N- Alan - Austin Engagement Photographer /
Mary -N- Alan I dig it ,when another photographer selects us as their photographer. To me, that is the highest honor, and the greatest pressure ;)
Mary and Alan met in high school and these images are taken on, or near campus where they met, or his parents house and the path from school to his parents house, moments in time for a couple who have been together for 10 years. I love them. I think the locations were really meaningful and exciting to me. It's always a thrill to go into a completely new environment and make something awesome from it.
Audrey -N- Christian - Austin Engagement Photography /
They met in High School and studied music together here and in South Africa. They are both recent graduates and recently employed music teachers. I'm so happy to know that my son will thankfully be able to experience the riches of music in school, thanks to these 2 and many, many others.
It was a pleasure to work with them, We're excited for their cute Tuesday wedding in December.
We absolutely love the pics! Thank you so much. We have 35 that we chose and absolutely adore.

Suzanne (Mrs O'Brien) and I have been friends since we were in high school together, quite a while ago, don't even ask... When we moved from New York to Austin it was for the promise of good friends in the area and of course, because it's Austin. This is Suzanne, Kelly, Hannah, Emily, and James.
