Jenna -N- Ricardo met while attending the University of Texas. Ricardo graduated and moved to NYC to work in finance, Jenna stuck around to wrap up her degree and one year later followed. They recently relocated to Jersey City where they're happy and have a bigger space. Their wedding will be held next year at the Hummingbird House and they plan to resume their residence in the tri-state area, at least for a little while. I'm jealous. Thanks for having me along for the ride guys. I look forward to next year!
Engagement session
Anna-N-Rohan - A Fort Worth Engagement - Austin Engagement Photography /
Anna and Rohan met in the office (they're both in accounting). At first, she ignored his advances, but finally gave in and went out with him. And a good thing she did. Rohan, I have never met ayone who needs his joe as much as you do. Thank god for Starbucks! He even had a Starbucks logo-shaped grooms cake made of, you guessed it, coffee cake. Far and away, THE best wedding cake I've had the pleasure of enjoying. More on that later.
They live in Fort Worth, but their wedding was in Austin(ish). So we got together in Fort Worth to photograph their engagement session. The Fort Worth Water Gardens was their setting, a place we all remembered from childhood outings. It was gorgeous to shoot there. I imagine Fort Worth photographers shoot there all the time, but it was fresh and inspiring for me. I love to travel for sessions and weddings! A note to you all ;)
Thank you Anna and Rohan for having me along for your special day. I will edit your wedding soon. Promise!

Lauren -N- Matt Engaged! - UT engagement session - Austin Engagement Photography /
Lauren and Matt met in a geology class at UT. It was my first time to shoot at UT, there are a million different shots to be had there. I love shooting engagement sessions. Couples who may have never been photographed before, are all of the sudden put together and asked to look lovingly at each other. With some couples, they have been together for years and the "honeymoon phase" is long since worn off. Ladies: you're not crazy, not everyone just shows up all lovey dovey, though some folks do. The #1 phrase I hear from every person I photograph at the beginning of our session is "what do I do with my arms?" By the end of our session you will be a bonafide fashion model ;) This is an opportunity to kick off your engagement, remember why you love each other. I one time had a bride say that her engagement session actually strengthened their bond.

Megan -N- Tim Engaged! - Austin Engagement Photographer /
Megan has been besties with one of our December brides since they were babies. She caught wind of Audrey's engagement session on facebook. Flash forward, Tim proposes to Miss DuBois in May and now it's Megan's turn for a portrait session. She chose a fishing themed engagement session. We had such a fun time traipsing through the low water rising in a small low key park in Kyle Texas. It was gorgeous, I just love when our couples are married to an idea it makes things so wonderful and inspiring to photograph. Congratulations guys!
We love you Melanie! You are the bee's knees in our book : ] ---Megan

Engagement session Speak peeks! - Austin Engagement Photographer /
We have been swamped lately, it being wedding season and all. I am working feverishly to edit and process our weddings, engagement and family sessions. We're at fever pitch! Here is a taste for a few couples out there waiting anxiously. The first is Jennifer and Frank at Katherine Fleisher Park, a north Austin engagement session.
Lauren and Matt's engagement session is at UT Campus where they met in a geology class.
Megan and Tim found us through mutual friends who are also getting married in December. Megan wanted there to be "a little something" so she chose fishing as their theme and I LOVE it. We found a quiet little park in Kyle to photograph their fishing concept engagement session, and then, we hit the ice cream parlor in Buda. YUM.
Here you go guys, a taste. I am working on your photos I promise.

Kathleen -N- Nick - New York City Engagement Photographer /
Kathleen and Nick met while work in a Mexican restaurant together in Austin, Tx. She continued with school when he left to go to West Point, then joined him in New York state. She now resides in Brooklyn, NY, while h continues his studies at West Point. They wanted to commemorate their stay in New York by photographing their engagement session in Brooklyn, NY. Kathleen did an amazing job drawing a map to all of the locations she liked but also left some room for chance. We only had the one day and it rained but it made for great photographs. We found a great coffee shop in Vinegar Hill that didn't want to let us shoot but we charmed them into a teeny session before their Sunday morning brunch. It was a welcome change of pace and really got my juices flowing!
We were able to stay in New York for a few days for a visit with all of our friend, just long enough to make us miss it like crazy, though the baby carriage was new. Not fun... I'll just say it. So I don't think we'll be moving back anytime soon... I realized I even missed the subway, 4 years ago, I never thought I'd say it.
I'm feeling a little narcissistic- I've never enjoyed looking at pictures of myself so much! haha...these are really great! Thanks again for making the trek up to New York to see us...The rain made for some great pictures, but we'll pray for sunny skies in May :)

Shweta -N- Vishal - Austin Engagement Photography /
Shweta and Vishal They were introduced by their families. Their union is a modern arranged marriage. Not really betrothed but were introduced with the hope that they would fall in love and one day wed. Schweta told her mother that she would never marry Vishal, because he had the same name as her brother and how could she? She met Vishal and they laughed and had such a wonderful time together that she decided, it might not be such a bad thing. Vishal recently moved to Austin from Houston and Schweta is finishing up a job and planning a traditional three day Indian Wedding in San Francisco for June. Then they will be reunited in Austin. Welcome to the Lone Star State!
I really love the photos! They turned out great!

Christy -N- Greg Engaged! - Austin Engagement Photography /
Christy and Greg.
We met while I was shooting a photo booth during a Leap benefit at Seaholm Power Plant. There were a line of attendees and Greg wanted to negotiate his wedding on the spot. But I told him he would just HAVE to come in and chat with me outside of that situation and my candor if what drew them to me. I met Christy again the same week at a wedding event I sent them to, and after that we were golden. So here we are folks, their wedding is tomorrow, on a piece of property her landlord owns, in South Austin. I can hardly wait to see how it's all going to come out, and hopefully a special quick trip for Greg to the fire station after their event. We'll see.
I spoke with Greg yesterday about plans and tomorrow and then about their engagement pictures and it was clear I won over a skeptic. He says the pictures I thought I would like were great but the pictures I wasn't so sure about or that made me feel stupid while we were shooting it look better. Trust is the #2 reason to do an engagement session. If you have the budget and you're waffling. Do it. It's remarkable how much piece of mind it can bring when you already have worked with your photographer.

Cat and Brett moved to Austin, like yesterday, they are planning their nuptials in Seattle in the fall but wanted to get some sun shiny (no drizzling) shots for their engagement photos. We photographed them here in Austin at The Long Center, Butler Park and Town Lake. Three of the most fantastic locations in Austin. We had such an amazing time working together. Now their Wedding in Seattle has become a Seattle destination wedding for them. Chears to you both. Congratulations!

Katie a native Texan and Kieran a native New Yorker plan to take their vows in Austin in October. They met in New York while copywriting for the same ad agency. Mary -N- Alan - Austin Engagement Photographer /
Mary -N- Alan I dig it ,when another photographer selects us as their photographer. To me, that is the highest honor, and the greatest pressure ;)
Mary and Alan met in high school and these images are taken on, or near campus where they met, or his parents house and the path from school to his parents house, moments in time for a couple who have been together for 10 years. I love them. I think the locations were really meaningful and exciting to me. It's always a thrill to go into a completely new environment and make something awesome from it.
Audrey -N- Christian - Austin Engagement Photography /
They met in High School and studied music together here and in South Africa. They are both recent graduates and recently employed music teachers. I'm so happy to know that my son will thankfully be able to experience the riches of music in school, thanks to these 2 and many, many others.
It was a pleasure to work with them, We're excited for their cute Tuesday wedding in December.
We absolutely love the pics! Thank you so much. We have 35 that we chose and absolutely adore.

Tracy -N- Jim --- Austin Engagement Photographer /
Amy -N- Keith an engagement -- Austin Engagement Photography /
I love Amy and Keith. When we first got together we decided that Keith is a fan of movies and they wanted to do something for their engagement that had to do with movies. I know there are a lot of typical things in Austin to do on the subject, but I wanted to do something different. So I did some painstaking research and found a functioning drive-in near Waco. When we arrived we found out there is a fully functioning albeit totally creepy miniature golf course right next door.
It was a fantastic shoot and family affair, Amy and Keith came together and I brought B and He. We stuck around after the shoot to watch Mega Mind at the drive-in. Very Good Times.
We love the photos! We are so lucky to have you as our photographer!!

Zoo Lovers Sneak Peek - Austin Engagement Photographer /
Meejin and Jay were nervous about their session, it's not everyday you get to get pictures taken together. They suggested they get to use a back drop that means something to them. Austin Zoo and Sanctuary. It's an inexpensive and more "Austin" Alternative to a normal zoo. The animals are, some, rescued from circus acts and the like, they have a three-legged wolf among their collection. Meejin LOVES the zoo, she hits every zoo, in every town they visit, Jay has learned to love it just as much. I love it when our couples come up with something completely different, something uniquely them. What a treat. In fact I think we'll be back here for B's birthday next month.
Thanks for looking have a wonderful weekend.
