Tuesday Fall Wedding at Barr Mansion - Austin, Tx

We grew the dahlias which were the flowers in the bouquets, the flower girl's headpiece, and the Moms' wrist flowers. We ordered the tubers for the dahlias from Swan Island Dahlias and planted at the end of April. Dahlias don't really like to be super hot so south Louisiana conditions were not ideal for production, but it was a really fun experience. We planted them at my mom's house, and my brother helped with the planting. We had pretty fresh cut flowers constantly for the few months before the wedding. We had a few back up plans since we didn't really know what to expect having never grown dahlias, but the one we went with was picking up whatever flowers we needed from somewhere in Austin, to supplement the dahlias. I'll include their info in the vendors info that I'm collecting.
A few of the wine bottles had been collected over the years, champagne bottle from the bachelorette party, a few wine bottles from a couples shower, then friends had a few too. We scraped the labels, and painted with chalk paint. They were used as vases and table markers. The candles were made by my brother. He used our old jars to make about 70 candles. It was his first experience as a candle maker and extremely successful. The chalkboards were all things we collected and painted with chalkboard paint. I could keep going... so many details.
